The Direct Deck Control cable is an AVID serial control cable that allows the Composer software to control a qualified deck using Sony RS-422 Protocol. This cable is designed specifically for the AVID product line and cannot be purchased through a computer parts store.
The cable allows you to connect and RS-422 jog wheel or other video control device to a Mac with a Mini-DIN-8 serial port. It is designed for use with Avid video editing software.
